You are probably already aware of the fact that Nantucket is blessed with three terrific lighthouses: Brant Point, Sankaty, and Great Point. Each has an interesting history but unfortunately none of them are open to the public. Great Point is the only lighthouse on the island that is remote and difficult to get to, requiring either four-wheel drive or a two-hour walk through the sand from Wauwinet.
