Edition: 1st edition  Binding: Hardcover  Publisher:  Hastings House  Published: 1973   Condition:  Book and DJ - Like New   Summary:  Nantucket's exciting history is told by Edouard A. Stackpole, and the architecture, landmarks, natural beauties, and daily life of the island are captured by Peter H. Dreyer's photography. Personal Notes:  Although not very large, this book makes a wonderful coffee table book due to Dreyer's photography.  Each plate has a several paragraphs describing the image on the facing page. Nantucket in Color also contains a brief popular history of the island by one of Nantucket's premier historians, Edouard Stackpole.  It's a terrific combination - sort of like getting two books in one.  It has always been one of my favorites and is quite possibly the book with which I started my Nantucket book collection many years ago.
